REBEL Underground Prepare For Debut Show - Full Lineup Announced
MAY 13 - After the conclusion of REBEL's Naval Attack, the full card for the first ever REBEL Underground show on Saturday, May 24 was released, with five big matches highlighted by a Carolinas Championship defense and the final qualifying match for a spot in the Four Way Dance at American Anarchy II for the REBEL World Heavyweight Championship:
REBEL CAROLINAS CHAMPIONSHIP
Mikey Massacre (C) vs Cuzin Zeke
Mikey Massacre ended the lengthy reign of JJ Nickels last month. Since then, a war has begun to brew between Massacre and Manny X that will culminate in REBEL's first ever Ambulance Match at American Anarchy II. That match might not be for the Carolinas Championship, however, as Massacre defends his gold against the highly popular and highly successful Cuzin Zeke in the main event. Cuzin Zeke has tasted gold before in the form of the World Tag Team Titles, but this is his first shot at singles gold. Will Mikey Massacre overlook Kentucky's favorite son on the way to American Anarchy II, or will Cuzin Zeke be another notch on Massacre's growing belt?
AMERICAN ANARCHY FOUR WAY DANCE QUALIFIER
El Rey de Corizones vs Stylin' Kyle Roberts
At this point, we know two of the four participants in the Four Way Dance at American Anarchy II. "Da Technical Terror" Lloyd Rees will be defending his title against "The Devastator" Kurt Castle, a wrestler of "Diamond" Derrick Steele's choosing, and the winner of this contest. El Rey de Corizones is coming off of a pair of abbreviated World Tag Title reigns with Cuzin Zeke, and hasn't seen the winner's share of the purse since Birthday Bash. Stylin' Kyle Roberts hasn't been a bellwether of success either, with only one win in his last eight matchups, including a World Title loss and the loss of the Number One Contender's Trophy at Sand and Slams. Both men can put their recent lack of success behind them with one victory in the REBEL Underground, though, as a win here will propel them to the Four Way Dance for the REBEL World Heavyweight Championship!
THREE WAY DANCE
Mr. Hollywood vs Manny X vs Galactix
Three completely different personalities converge in a Three Way Dance in the REBEL Underground! The psychotic Manny X is looking to inflict some pain on anyone in his path to Mikey Massacre and the Ambulance Match at American Anarchy II. Galactix is just looking to stay upright for more than two minutes after the beating he took at the hands of Blood at Sand and Slams. And Mr. Hollywood is looking for redemption after a series of close but not quite results since his debut at Birthday Bash. There's no gold on the line here, but a victory not only gets you the winner's share of the purse, it'll move you into title contention with a title scene that's more wide open than ever before.
TABLES MATCH
The Dark Market vs Natural Destruction
Two teams looking to step up the ranks and move towards the World Tag Team Titles will get a chance to make a big impression, and leave their opponents in a pile of splinters! The unorthodox duo of Natural Destruction looks to offer up a sacrifice to their deities in the form of The Dark Market, two men who wheel anddeal the world away without a care. Someone's leaving with wood chips stuck in their back and someone's leaving with a big time win under their belts!
Blood vs. Warren
Rock on! Warren managed to slay one monster at Naval Attack in the form of JASON, but in the REBEL Underground, he'll have to take on another angry monster in the form of the veteran Blood. The slacker extraordinaire will have to survive the onslaught of a man who's looked dominant in his two singles matches so far, but still hasn't managed to come out ahead with a victory. Blood's on the hunt for a win... is Warren going to be a sacrifice in that hunt?
ALSO APPEARING
"The Devastator" Kurt Castle and "Diamond" Derrick Steele
"Diamond" Derrick Steele will announce who will receive the fourth spot into the Four Way Dance at American Anarchy II for the REBEL World Heavyweight Championship and one of the other participants in that match, "The Devastator" Kurt Castle will have words for the REBEL audience as well.
Also, before the main show, some of the Steele Dojo trainees will be wrestling exhibition matches. This could be your first look at a future REBEL World Champ! Doors open at 7PM, and the main show starts at 8PM. We'll see you there!
REBEL Underground Welcomes Derrick Steele
APRIL 21 - Rick Garrett, owner of REBEL Pro Wrestling, announced the purchase of warehouse space on the outskirts of Durham, NC near the Duke University campus earlier today. The REBEL Underground will be home to a wrestling school, the Steele Dojo Carolinas, and monthly wrestling shows featuring REBEL talent and students from the school. The school's head trainer will be recent REBEL signee "Diamond" Derrick Steele, who has twelve years experience in the industry, ten as head trainer of the Steele Dojo in Crystal Lake, Nevada.
"Signing with REBEL Pro has opened up opportunities I never imagined I'd get so quickly," Steele said in an interview with Chet Whettleson after Garrett's announcement. "Not only do I get to continue to pursue my aspirations as a professional wrestler, but I get to keep teaching this great sport to a new generation at the same tme." Steele also announced that a few students past and present of the Steele Dojo in Nevada would be travelling with him to help get the new school on its feet. No immediate plans were announced for the Crystal Lake dojo, although Steele promised earlier this month that the ten thousand dollars he won at NAPW/REBEL's Supershow V Bunkhouse Stampede would be used to keep the school open.
The first REBEL Underground show is scheduled for May 24. Aspiring students looking to apply for the Steele Dojo are invited to contact the dojo. |
